IET Publications, Web Sites Win Several National Awards

Several IET publications and Web sites recently won awards at a national competition among universities, besting the likes of technology powerhouses MIT and Indiana. UC Davis pulled in 5 first and second place plaques, the most any campus has won in a single year in the history of the competition. The competition was sponsored by the Special Interest Group for University & College Computing Services (SIGUCCS). The Association of Computing Machinery SIGUCCS Conference is an annual gathering of computing service units from campuses throughout the country. The awards: Category: Quick Reference Guides First Place - Student Computing 101Category: Student Created Promotional Materials Second Place - Student Computing Guide Promotional FlyersCategory: Electronic How-To Guides Second Place (tie) - Faculty Technology Guide Web SiteThe IT Times and Bovine Online garnered first-place awards (for Computing Newsletter Electronic & Print and Software CD, respectively) at last year's competition, and representatives from each of their team of designers was asked this year to judge the entries in their respective categories.
