Technology Support Program Awards Computing Conference Scholarships

The Technology Support Program (TSP) will be awarding four scholarships this year to campus Technical Support Coordinators (TSCs) to cover the cost of registering for the 13th annual University of California Computing Services Conference (UCCSC).

This conference provides a unique opportunity for members of UC Davis' technical community to discuss computing issues and strategies with peers from all 10 UC campuses. Scholarships will be awarded at the TSP Summer Quarterly Meeting scheduled for Friday, June 23, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the Silo Cabernet Room.

The conference will be held at UC Davis from July 23-25. Scholarship recipients will be chosen through a drawing of TSCs who participated in the annual TSP evaluation survey. Responses were collected from May 22 to June 2. In all, 172 TSCs participated.

The TSP is a program coordinated by the Division of Information Technology (IT). Initiated in 1995, the program is designed to form closer alliances between IT and departments on campus. The goal is to help departmental support staff provide effective front-line information technology support on an individual and small-group basis.

For the latest information on the TSP, visit their Web site at http://tsp.ucdavis.edu/. On the site, you will find a listing of departmental TSC representatives, information on how to join the program, and an overview of the program's goals and benefits to participants.

For questions about how to join the TSP or play a more active role in the program, contact Tecoy Porter at tmporter@ucdavis.edu.
