Summer Changes

Modems and Computer Labs Get Their Own Mothra Permits
On July 1, new computer accounts set up via the mothra services menu (http://mothra.ucdavis.edu/) will receive additional "permits. " Current users get an ISUN permit which grants them access to the isun.ucdavis.edu servers for email, the 752-7900 modem banks, and Information Technology computer labs. Starting July 1, there will be three different, separate permits: ISUN, IMOD, and ILAB, which will allow users and administrators greater flexibility in granting access to these services. New and existing users should note that passwords changed in the isun.ucdavis.edu system will no longer affect passwords for the modems or computer labs. Users will need to change their passwords using the mothra utility (http://mothra.ucdavis.edu/) so the new passwords can propogate to all services. More information on this change is available at http://ir.ucdavis.edu/info/.
