Report Outlines Network 21 Funding Strategies

The Network 21 Budget and Policy Oversight Committee submitted its final report to Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Robert D. Grey on Nov. 25, 1996.

The report outlines the Committee's recommended rate structure for Network 21. Recommendations are based on the campus community's response to the rate structure proposed in the Committee's original report published in March 1996.

The campus is invited to respond to the new "Multi-Part" rate structure proposed in the Network 21 report. Copies of the report, which is on the Web at http://net21.ucdavis.edu, were distributed at the Chancellor's Brown Bag on Dec. 5.

Here are some key communication dates:

  • Dec. 10: Deans, Vice Chancellors, and Network 21 Oversight Committee members meet to discuss the report.
  • Dec. 11: Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology, Carole A. Barone, and Oversight Committee members begin meeting with campus groups, including the Cal Aggie Editorial Board, to brief them on the Report.
  • Dec 13: Process for campus review and consideration of the Report published in Dateline UC Davis.
  • Jan 10: Network 21 Funding Strategies Report published as a special insert in Dateline.
  • Feb. 15: Provost Grey communicates his intentions with respect to implementation and/or modification of the Network 21 Funding Strategies Report to the deans and vice chancellors.
  • March: Wrap-up articles published in Dateline and I.T. Times.
