This is the debut of a regular feature that will present CAIT news and projects, introduce new technologies and tools, and explore innovative uses of technology both on and off campus. Our first article gives us an opportunity to introduce ourselves and to invite you to get to know us. The Center for Advanced Information Technology (CAIT) is a hardware and software research, evaluation, and demonstration facility that provides free briefings and consultation to the campus and the community.
If you have any pre-purchase questions about software or hardware, or if you want to implement a particular technology in your environment, we can help you find a solution. You can also visit the CAIT for presentations on various technologies. Outreach is an integral part of Information Technology's mission, and our facility is open to the campus and its surrounding community. We receive daily visitors, from elementary school children to pest control managers, all with a wide variety of technology-related interests.
