- Course Management Systems: For those of you contemplating these possible uses of the Web, come and hear some reports from the trenches. There will be three discussions/presentations about various aspects of course management systems: communication tools, online quizzes, and content delivery. The discussions will focus on the pedagogical goals of using these tools, how each faculty member chose the application they are using, and outcomes.
- Multimedia in the Classroom: We will also be seeing and hearing some of the new multimedia productions that have been developed this year. A number of faculty have been experimenting with creating DVDs and CDs to enhance their teaching. Come and hear how they were created and what they are contributing.
- New Faces in Information and Educational Technology (IET): We are going to meet a number of new faces in IET: Janette Dickens, the new manager of instructional technology support, and Jeanne Reese, the associate director of Mediaworks. Paula Murphy will also be joining us for a couple of days from UCOP's new Teaching, Learning, and technology Center.
- Hands-On Labs: In the afternoons, there will be a variety of labs to choose from. Whether you want to familiarize yourself with MyUCDavis—our very own, very user-friendly Web portal or you're ready to dive into Flash and create some online animations, we have got you covered.
